Therapeutic Massage

"Keeping your body healthy is an expression of gratitude to the whole cosmos — the trees, the clouds, everything."

– Thich Nhat Hanh

Modalities

I offer the following modalities at my locations in Riverdale (Bronx) and the UWS (Manhattan), as well as at your home if you live within a 15 mile radius of zip 10463 and have your own table. All sessions are 75-minutes in duration.

Relax
w/Swedish Massage

A full-body relaxation massage that is ideal for people primarily seeking to reduce overall physical tension, release stress and relax. The pressure is light to moderately deep, based on client comfort, and includes more gliding and flowing techniques. Great for those new to massage, as well as those who prefer lighter pressure.

Loosen Up
w/Deep Tissue Massage

A full-body massage that uses a variety of techniques designed to warm up and then work into the deeper muscle layers in order to reduce hypertonicity, break-up fascial adhesions, and relieve pain from active and latent trigger points. Please note that the pressure can be adjusted to your pain tolerance so let me know if something feels too intense or if you'd like me to work a little deeper.

Decrease Pain
w/Therapeutic Massage

A more focused session designed to help relieve chronic musculoskeletal pain or discomfort in specific areas. Sessions may include discussion, posture assessment, and range-of-motion testing to learn more about the history and possible contributing factors, followed by exercise recommendations and massage techniques designed to address the imbalances discovered.

Reduce Edema
w/Lymphatic Massage

Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle form of massage that stimulates the flow of lymph fluid in order to reduce swelling, boost immunity, and improve circulation. It can benefit conditions like lymphedema, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other autoimmune disorders. MLD can help reduce post-operative edema, reduce pain, and promote faster post-operative recovery for those undergoing elective surgery.

Add-On Services

I also offer a couple of add-on services for an additional fee, which you can select when you book your session.

Cupping
(aka Decompression Therapy)

Cupping is an alternative therapeutic approach that uses negative pressure to create suction on the body, which can help release tension, loosen fascial adhesions, break up scar tissue, increase blood circulation, and promote the free flow of Qi through the major meridian pathways.

Available for those receiving deep tissue and therapeutic massage.

CBD+
for Pain Relief

Highly recommended for use during therapeutic massage, CBD Clinic™️ is a clinical-strength CBD-menthol-camphor formulation that can be worked into your most troublesome areas for targeted relief of discomfort, aches, and pain. Two strengths are available: strong (CBD Clinic LV 4) and extra-strength (CBD Clinic LV 5).

Available for all modalities except MLD.

Read What Some of My Massage Clients Are Saying...

Nick Sisodia
VP, RSE Ventures

"Jason is exceptional. One of the highest body IQs of anyone I've worked with, he got rid of chronic lower back pain (SI area) that had been lingering for ~5 months. After a decade of orthopedic surgeries and sessions with 10+ PTs over the years, no one comes close to Jason in diagnosing the root cause of pain. I'm a big question-asker and his anatomy & physiology knowledge is second to none. Would recommend to anyone."

Jamye Brown
CFO, Clifton Larsen Allen

"So glad someone referred Jason to me! He is fantastic and has helped me manage a chronic problem I have had for a long time. I not only feel much better, but have learned so much about my anatomy and how to manage some of the triggers. I can't recommend Jason enough and feel so lucky to have met him. He is excellent!!!"

Lindsey Liberatore
Yoga Teacher

"I look for very specific qualities in a bodyworker: curiosity, knowledge and listening skills. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he not only embodies the aforementioned standards, but surpasses them. In just one session, he identified a maladaptive movement pattern that everyone else had missed and my shoulder began to heal!  I consider Jason a mentor and recommend him to all of my clients, students and friends!"

Sydney Lloyd Smith
Film Maker

"I have been to a fair number of massage therapists over the past 35 years, and there are only two that I would rank of the highest quality. Jason Brown is one of them. Apart from his extensive knowledge of the body, Jason has an unusual ability to listen intently both to the words and to unspoken body language of his clients. He is sensitive and attentive, and is always focused on my needs in order to intuit what will be the most beneficial for my specific condition, that day. I recommend him highly."
