Introduction

Zenyasa® seasonal classes offer a clear, structured pathway for developing strength, balance, nervous-system regulation, and embodied presence through mindful movement.

Each year is divided into four 12-week semesters, and each semester contains two 6-week modules. This structure helps you build consistency while giving you flexibility to join at the start of a new module or follow the full 12-week arc.  Whether you’re new to Zenyasa® or returning to deepen your practice, joining the waitlist ensures:

About the Series

Zenyasa® Foundations (Beginner-Friendly)
A slow, spacious introduction to the Zenyasa® method.

You’ll learn:

  • breathing and meditation techniques, and how to establish a skillful seat
  • the core sequences contained in every class, which include a joint-mobilization routine (Opening the Gates), warm-up exercises, two flowing sequences (Mountain Flow A & B), and Zenyasa® Sun Salutations
  • breath coordination + mindful pacing  
  • step-by-step alignment principles  
  • the Three Foundations of the practice (Mindfulness, Skillfulness, and Goodwill) and how to cultivate them on and off the mat

Perfect for newer students, returning movers, or anyone wanting a slower, gentler pace.

Zenyasa® 5-Element Flow (Intermediate)
Building on the structure established in Foundations, in this series we begin to explore the physical and energetic themes inspired by the five elements.
 
You’ll explore:

  • five unique sequences that strengthen and stretch the myofascial meridian pathways associated with Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire 
  • moment-to-moment postural alignment cues to help anchor your mind in the present moment
  • mindful sequencing that builds somatic intelligence  
  • two full 5-element cycles each semester

Ideal if you want to refine your practice and build strength through awareness rather than force.

A Seasonal Rhythm for Steady Progress

Each 12-week semester follows the same annual cycle:

  • Spring: February – April 
  • Summer: May – July  
  • Fall: August – October  
  • Winter: November – January

And each semester is made up of two 6-week modules. You can enroll in either module individually or take both for the full 12-week experience.  

All classes begin during the first full week of each semester, offering a predictable rhythm for returning to your practice with clarity and ease.

How Zenyasa® Fits Into the Zenyasa Wellness Pathways

Zenyasa® is the movement pillar of the Zenyasa Wellness Embodied Wisdom system. While ACT and DBT courses strengthen emotional and cognitive resilience, and meditation and journaling deepen presence and insight, Zenyasa offers a physical and somatic foundation for steadiness.

The practice strengthens the body, regulates the nervous system, and reconnects you with the immediate experience of breath and sensation — making it easier to apply mindfulness, compassion, and skillfulness in daily life.

Zenyasa® Foundations teaches the core sequences, pacing, and principles that ground the method.

Zenyasa® 5-Element Flow expands into the full elemental framework, cultivating balanced strength, mobility, and energetic awareness throughout the body.

Together, these classes support a holistic approach to resilience — one that integrates mind, body, behavior, and inner wisdom into a steady, sustainable practice across the year.
