What You'll Learn

This course teaches ACT’s core processes for building psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, open, and engaged with what matters most. Through guided practices and real-world examples, you’ll learn how to:

  • Unhook from unhelpful thoughts and rigid mental patterns
  • Relate to difficult emotions with more openness and compassion
  • Strengthen present-moment awareness
  • Identify and clarify deeply held values
  • Take committed, values-aligned action
  • Build resilience by increasing flexibility, not forcing positivity

These skills support healthier, more grounded relationships — with yourself and with others.

Who This Course is For

This course is a supportive fit if you:

  • Struggle with unhelpful thoughts, rumination, or overthinking
  • Want tools to relate to emotions with more openness and less resistance
  • Feel stuck or disconnected from purpose
  • Want support making choices grounded in values rather than avoidance
  • Prefer a practical, mindfulness-based approach to emotional wellbeing
  • Are working with a coach or therapist and want skills between sessions

Whether you’re familiar with ACT or brand new to it, this course offers a clear, actionable pathway toward greater psychological flexibility and inner steadiness.

How This Course Fits Into the Zenyasa Wellness Pathway

This course is part of the Zenyasa Wellness Resilience Skills learning path, which blends mindfulness, somatic grounding, and values-based action to support psychological and emotional steadiness.

In the ACT Essentials course, you’ll learn through three integrated modes:

Education — clear lessons on ACT’s core processes, including defusion, acceptance, present-moment awareness, values, and committed action.

Integration — reflective prompts and real-life applications that help you use these skills in daily situations.

Embodiment — grounding and awareness practices that support openness, presence, and intentional action.

ACT Essentials serves as the cognitive and values-based foundation within the broader Embodied Wisdom system. It complements the emotional-regulation skills developed in DBT,  the somatic grounding cultivated in Zenyasa® movement, and the contemplative clarity strengthened through meditation and journaling.

Together, these practices create a coherent pathway toward greater psychological flexibility, emotional steadiness, and purposeful, values-aligned living.
