Course Summary

Zenyasa Foundations is the recommended starting point for anyone new to the Zenyasa® method.  This six-week course offers a slow, spacious introduction to the core elements of the practice, emphasizing mindful pacing, internal awareness, and progressive learning rather than performance or intensity.
 
Whether you have years of experience with yoga, are returning to movement after time away, or are completely new to embodied practice, Zenyasa Foundations provides a clear, supportive entry into Zenyasa® — allowing you to learn why you’re doing what you’re doing, not just follow along.  


Who This Course is For

Zenyasa Foundations may be a good fit if you:

  • Are new to the Zenyasa® method 
  • Prefer slow, thoughtful pacing over fast or performance-driven classes  
  • Want to build strength, mobility, and nervous-system regulation together  
  • Appreciate clear structure, repetition, and progressive learning  
  • Are interested in the somatic and philosophical foundations of movement  
  • Value small-group instruction and individualized guidance

This course may not be the right fit if you’re looking for fast-paced vinyasa flow, high-intensity workouts, or drop-in classes without continuity.


What You’ll Practice and Learn

During Zenyasa Foundations, you’ll be introduced to the core elements of the Zenyasa® method, including:

  • Breathing practices and seated meditation 
  • Opening the Gates and foundational joint preparation  
  • Mountain Flow and accessible strengthening sequences  
  • Introductory Sun Salutation variations  
  • The Three Foundations of practice: Mindfulness, Skillfulness, and Goodwill

Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on pacing, interoception, and learning to listen inward — developing a felt sense of stability and trust in your body’s intelligence.


Weekly Live Sessions

Zenyasa Foundations is taught through live, guided movement classes that emphasize internal awareness over visual demonstration.
 
Each 75-minute session follows a steady, predictable rhythm, allowing you to settle into the practice rather than rush through it.

Classes typically include:

  • A brief arrival and grounding period 
  • Breath-led movement introduced gradually and progressively  
  • Time to explore sensation, alignment, and effort without strain  
  • Intentional pauses for rest and integration  
  • A calm, unhurried closing

Classes are guided rather than led, meaning you’re invited to move at your own pace while listening closely to verbal cues and internal signals. The teacher remains primarily in an observing and guiding role, offering cues based on what is actually happening in the room.

Many students find this approach supports deeper embodiment, reduces performance pressure, and makes it easier to stay connected to their own experience.


Course Curriculum

Access & Scheduling

  • One live class per week (75 minutes) is included with enrollment
  • All sessions are recorded and available for replay  
  • If you miss your scheduled class, you may attend the alternate class that week as a make-up

Zenyasa Foundations is offered twice weekly to provide flexibility, not obligation. Most students choose one consistent weekly class as an anchor and use the second option as needed.

If you’d like the option to attend both Foundations classes each week, along with additional meditation, journaling, and the ACT group coaching sessions, the 6-Week Intro Membership may be a better fit.  

Course access remains available for 90 days from the date of enrollment, allowing time for review, reflection, and integration beyond the live series.

Because access to digital materials and course content is provided immediately upon enrollment, this program is non-refundable once access has been granted.

Zenyasa Foundations is included in the 6-Week Intro Membership.

Memberships provide access to multiple weekly offerings — including two weekly Zenyasa® Foundations classes, Meditation and Journaling Explorations classes, and the ACT Essentials group coaching class — within a single, supportive container.  

This course may also be taken on its own as a complete, standalone experience.
