Zenyasa Foundations II • SS26 T2

Spring/Summer 2026 • Term 2 • May 12 – Jun 20

Enrollment opens April 6, 2026

A gradual, educational continuation of the Zenyasa® mindful movement practice — designed to deepen understanding and introduce the Five-Element sequencing philosophy and framework.

Also included in seasonal memberships

Course Summary

Zenyasa Foundations II builds directly upon the grounding principles and movement language introduced in Foundations I.

This six-week course introduces the Five-Element framework — Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire — in a slow, accessible, and educational way. Each week highlights one element, offering a clear structure for understanding how elemental qualities shape movement patterns, breath, and internal awareness.

Rather than adding speed or complexity, Foundations II deepens your relationship to the practice by helping you recognize why movements are sequenced as they are, and how different elemental themes invite different qualities of strength, stability, mobility, and ease.

Foundations II completes the full introductory arc of the Zenyasa® method, while remaining supportive, spacious, and grounded.

Who This Course is For

Zenyasa Foundations II may be a good fit if you:

  • Have completed Zenyasa Foundations I and want to continue the introductory sequence
  • Want a deeper understanding of how Zenyasa® classes are structured and sequenced
  • Appreciate learning through repetition, reflection, and gradual integration
  • Are curious about the Five-Element framework and its somatic applications
  • Prefer education and embodiment over performance or fast pacing

Students who have practiced Zenyasa® previously may also choose to repeat Foundations II to deepen integration at a supportive pace.

What You’ll Practice and Learn

Throughout Foundations II, you’ll explore:

  • The Five Elements — Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire — one per week
  • How elemental themes influence posture selection, sequencing, and energetic quality
  • Continued development of breath awareness and internal sensing
  • Progressive strengthening and stretching of specific muscle groups and meridian pathways
  • How to move with clarity, steadiness, and kindness as intensity subtly shifts

Movement remains slow and intentional, with emphasis on presence, interoception, and sustainable strength rather than exertion.

Weekly Live Sessions

Each 75-minute class follows a familiar, steady rhythm so you can focus on exploration rather than orientation.

Sessions typically include:

  • Seated meditation to establish stillness and attention
  • Opening the Gates to awaken joints and circulation
  • Mountain Flow A & B and Step-Back Sun Salutations to warm up the body and encourage energy flow
  • An introduction to one of the five elemental themes
  • Time to explore sensation, alignment, and internal feedback
  • Rest and integration between phases
  • A calm, unhurried closing

Classes are guided rather than led, allowing you to listen inward and move at your own pace while receiving clear verbal cues. The teacher remains primarily in an observing and guiding role, offering instruction based on what is actually happening in the room.

Course Curriculum

Access & Scheduling

  • One live class per week (75 minutes) is included with enrollment
  • All sessions are recorded and available for replay
  • If you miss your scheduled class, you may attend the alternate class that week as a make-up

Zenyasa Foundations II is offered twice weekly to provide flexibility, not obligation. Most students choose one consistent weekly class as an anchor and use the second option as needed.

If you’d like the option to attend both Foundations classes each week, along with additional meditation, journaling, and the DBT group coaching sessions, the Semester Membership may be a better fit.

Course access remains available for 120 days from the date of enrollment, allowing time for review, reflection, and integration beyond the live series.

Because access to digital materials and course content is provided immediately upon enrollment, this program is non-refundable once access has been granted.

Included in Memberships

Zenyasa Foundations II is included in all semester memberships.

Memberships provide access to multiple weekly offerings — including two weekly Zenyasa Foundations classes, Meditation and Journaling Explorations classes, and DBT group coaching classes — within a single, supportive container.

This course may also be taken on its own as a complete, standalone experience.
